The taste of Verona

Veronese cooking comes from the meeting of farming tradition, local produce and a strong wine culture.

Among the most representative dishes are risotto all'Amarone, made with one of Valpolicella's signature wines, gnocchi di malga, pastissada de caval, a historic Veronese dish, and lesso con la pearà, served with the characteristic sauce of breadcrumbs, broth and pepper.

Local produce is never far from the table: Monte Veronese DOP cheese, extra virgin olive oil, the red radicchio of Verona and the many specialities of Veneto cooking.

The area is naturally bound to wine as well. Valpolicella is the home of Amarone, Valpolicella Ripasso and Recioto, while the hills around Lake Garda hold significant production of Bardolino, Lugana and Custoza.
